About the Event

Wirral Symphonic Wind Band presents the world premiere of Martin Ellerby's new work Wirral Dances, Conducted by Philip Robinson, and commisioned by WSWB in memorium of Beryl Hughes, a long time fan of the band. 



We celebrate the colossal impact of Martin Ellerby on the wind band world by also performing his most famous work for winds: Paris Sketches; as well as music by Nigel Hess, Ted Huggens and WSWB conductor and former BASBWE Chairman, Philip Robinson.


Plus a very special guest soprano, Barbara Ruzsics, who will be joining the band for a rare performance of Bernard Gilmore's Five Folk Songs
